Bud Thoreen

Bud Thoreen's journey is a testament to a life dedicated to service, education, and community engagement. Raised in the vibrant landscape of Southern California, Bud’s formative years instilled in him a passion for helping others and understanding diverse cultures. He pursued this passion academically, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College, followed by a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. These educational milestones laid a firm foundation for his future endeavors in ministry and community outreach.

Bud spent nearly a decade as an Area Director for Young Life, where he had a profound impact on the lives of young people. His leadership and commitment to mentoring youth helped shape future generations, teaching them about faith, resilience, and community involvement. Following his time with Young Life, Bud pivoted into the construction industry, establishing a successful career as a remodeling contractor. Over 37 years, he honed his skills in building and design, transforming homes and spaces while fostering relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

In retirement, Bud continues to reflect his lifelong dedication to service through his current role with FaithQuest Missions. Here, he actively engages believers in understanding and participating in God’s work across the globe, bridging cultural gaps and encouraging community-focused initiatives. Additionally, Bud has played a significant role in Irvine Presbyterian Church for over 40 years, serving as an elder, teacher, and part-time preacher. His commitment to teaching and mentoring within the church community has enriched the spiritual lives of many, allowing him to leave a lasting legacy of faith and compassion. Through each phase of his journey, Bud Thoreen exemplifies a life devoted to faith, leadership, and community service.
